Sew these incredible lights into your clothes.
|
Electroluminescent wire, or 'EL wire' for short, is a thin copper wire coated in phosphor. The cool thing is that it glows when a current is connected to it. Using EL wire and a small battery pack you can add lights to your own clothes, its very simple and requires no special skills other than basic soldering and sewing.

Make a tin can lantern.
|
Get involved and make your own tin-can lantern! Making one is easy and fun, you'll need a tin can, some water, sand and some screwdrivers or nails.
Simply freeze a mixture of sand and water in the tin. (The sand stops the bottom from bulging out as it freezes) When it is frozen, you use the screwdrivers or nails to punch holes in the tin, making cool designs for the candle inside to shine through. Then let the water melt, empty it out, paint it and drop a tealight candle inside, simple and very effective.
